Student Extravaganza
Students will have the opportunity to hear short presentations from
experts in the field about AOSD research directions, and to present
their own work as a poster. This event is an excellent opportunity
for students to get feedback on their work from leaders in the field,
and to mingle with other students. All students are welcome.
This event has three overlapping goals:
|
Volunteers & EPSRC Bursaries
|
|
A limited number of student volunteer positions and EPSRC bursaries are available for PhD
students to attend the conference. Click here for more information.
|
|
|
|
- Provide a venue for students to vet research ideas and directions
with experts in the field.
- Expose students to possible research directions.
- Allow students to get to know each other.
Format
We will start with some brief presentations from experts in the
field about where AOSD is heading, and interesting open problems.
The presenters will be announced closer to the event.
Students who have brought a poster will have been assigned a space
on which to hang their poster. We will ask the students to present
their poster to experts in the area who will circulate around the
interest areas. Interesting discussions can then continue over
refreshments. The panel of experts will be announced closer to the
event.
We intend to have space available during the conference after the
Student Extravaganza for some of the posters to be available for
viewing to the general conference audience.
Poster Size
The recommended size for posters is AO (841mm x 1189mm). Posters of this size
will fit well on the provided display boards and will ensure visibility from
a distance.
Any student attending the conference can participate. We would
encourage each student to present a poster, even if their work is only
in the formative stages. Students wishing to attend must register.
Early registration deadline: | Friday, 6 February (in time
for feedback
prior to conference early registration deadline). |
Late registration deadline: | Monday, 4
March. |
