Student Volunteers

AOSD 2002 requires the help of student volunteers.

Student Volunteers profile
Fifteen positions are available for students with a good knowledge of English who would like to help by providing technical support at the AOSD 2002 conference.
Duties will include
  • Providing technical assistance for the workshops, tutorials and main conference sessions,
  • Helping at the registration desk, mail-room, demonstration area, refreshment area and other conference sites,
  • Arranging, rearranging and dearranging conference facilities.
Volunteers must be available to assist the two days of the workshops and tutorials sessions, and for half of the time of the main conference.
Successful applicants will be offered
  • Arrangement of low-cost accommodation in a hotel on the university campus (around € 37 per night per person; you have to make the payment yourself directly to the hotel);
  • Free admission - as far as place is available - to selected tutorials, workshops and main conference, when not on duty;
  • We will attempt to assign volunteers to the tutorials, workshops and demonstrations of interest to them;
  • Free lunches and coffee.
Qualifications
  • The applicant must be enrolled as full- or part-time undergraduate or graduate students during the 2001-2002 academic year
  • The applicant should be proficient in English.
Applications
You should send your application in English - by email to the Student Volunteers Chair at vdberg@cs.utwente.nl. Your application should include:
  • A short CV (shorter than one page)
  • A scanned copy (an uploaded gif or jpeg file) of: a validated student ID card, or a letter from your institution certifying your enrolment status for the year 2001-2002
  • Contact name, phone number, and email address for a faculty member of the applicant's institution. This faculty member will serve as a reference for the applicant.
  • A statement about whether you want to register for the low-cost accommodation and for which nights

The deadline for application is March 13, 2002. All applicants will receive information about acceptance by March 20, 2002. Selection will be done on a First Received First Accepted basis among suitable submissions.
