Overview
Students will have the opportunity to hear short presentations from experts
in the field about AOSD research directions, and to present their own work as a
poster. This event is an excellent opportunity for students to get feedback on
their work from leaders in the field, and to mingle with other students. All
students are welcome. There are three overlapping goals:
- Provide a venue for students to vet research ideas and directions with
experts in the field.
- Expose students to possible research directions.
- Allow students to get to know each other.
Format
We will start with two presentations from experts in the field
about where AOSD is heading, and interesting open problems. The
presenters will be announced closer to the event.
Students who
have brought a poster will have been assigned a space to display
their poster. We will ask the students to present their poster to
experts in the area who will circulate around the interest areas. The
panel of experts will be announced closer to the event. After poster
presentations there will be an informal discussion period well suited
to meeting new people, getting to know their work, and discovering
potential collaborations.
We intend to have space available where the posters will remain on display
for the general conference audience, after the Student Extravaganza.
Registration & Submission
Any student attending the conference can participate. We would
encourage each student to present a poster, even if their work is only
in the formative stages. Students wishing to attend must register.
