Abstract
This report describes the use of aspect-oriented techniques to develop an enterprise
auditing solution targeted for J2EE applications. Aspect-oriented programming allows us
to create drop-in modules that apply consistent auditing rules across all applications in the
enterprise. In this particular implementation, AspectJ was used to create a commercial
product, named intelliPrints™, that does runtime weaving of audit code for Servlet, JNDI,
EJB, and JDBC API code.
