   Beethoven Memorial

Ludwig van Beethoven, the famous composer, was born in Bonn in 1770. Bonn is generally called "Beethoven town" and celebrates this in the anually Beethoven festival every autumn. There is also the Beethoven concert hall in the north of Bonn, venue of many concerts.

In the background, you can see the historical post office, probably one of the best examples for bringing together old and new times in Bonn: The post office located inside is absolutely modern, and parts of the old outer walls are now inner walls of the modern "Wehmeier" store next door.
